Workshops The Hub was created primarily to facilitate workshops with local businesses. The environment is wired with multiple TVs, a projector, web cam, wall-mounted iPads and free WiFi. Two large conference tables made locally from reclaimed bowling alley lanes seat 30 people and their laptops or iPads. The facility's webcam enables us to broadcast workshops, ensuring that people without direct access to the space can benefit as well.
There are two main workshop focuses, local businesses and local shoppers.
Business workshops are designed to help entrepreneurs understand the benefits of using technology and to introduce them to the wide range of apps and web services available to them, including: - Online payments - PayPal, Square, Stripe, etc.
- Ecommerce
- Local marketing - ShopLocally, Yelp, Google Places
- Social media - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
Consumer workshops are designed to educate individuals on the benefits of supporting their communities and the power of voting with their wallets.
