Definition of a WETT Inspection The term WETT inspection is widely used — unfortunately, often incorrectly. A WETT inspection is defined as: An inspection (as defined by the “SITE” Table guidelines of Wood Energy Technology Transfer aka= WETT) of a solid-fuel-burning system, performed by a WETT-certified professional, for compliance with applicable codes and standards. There is no specific inspection report format that is a “WETT Inspection.” Report types can and do vary. Members are encouraged to use WETT’s recommended forms, but this is not mandated. The key essentials that define a WETT inspection are: 1/ the person doing the inspection is WETT certified, and 2/ the inspection will include documentation on compliance to applicable codes and standards.
