"How often should I have my chimney inspected?"

Great question! The Ontario Fire Code requires an annual inspection by a chimney sweep, with cleanings as necessary.

Make sure you're up to code with a call to RAW Chimney Sweep and Inspections, 705-300-1243.

Do you have a pellet stove or want one? Yes we are WETT certified and can install, inspect or clean pellet stoves. The pellet stove is a great alternative to those who want something other than gas or oil and yet do not want to chop, pipe and carry wood. They do need electricity to run, but the upside is they are controlled by a thermostat and almost as convenient as gas or oil and can be less costly to operate.

This is what dried creosote is when... more

Some think they can do the cleaning themselves, a few can, however of the ones we have seen that were self maintained the number who do it well are few. The vast majority of those who attempt it simply only do a half-hearted job or simply... more
