FINAL UPDATE
The results are in and involved officers and road maintenance staff are pleased to provide the data of their work on Highway 93 raising the level of road safety by maintaining the roadway surface and improving driver habits and behavior.
The time focus of this project was from February 25, 2015 through to March 10, 2015. There were no fatal or personal collisions (PI) during this time frame and only 2 property damage (PD) collisions investigated by the OPP. A total of 52 drivers were charged and 8 were warned in relation to speeding infractions. No persons were charged with seatbelt infractions and 1 driver was charged in relation to distracted driving. 16 drivers were charged with various offences under the Highway Traffic Act including 2 drivers with Careless Driving in relation to the PD collisions. 7 R.I.D.E. check stop locations were set up for a total of 6 ½ hours and stopped 263 vehicles during which time 2 drivers were administered road side screening device tests (passed). 1 incident was investigated as a result of a call for service by a motorist in relation to a speeding complaint. 85 ½ hours of directed patrol on Highway 93 was completed by involved officers.

Officers will continue to increase their presence along Highway 93 to increase visibility and work closely with MTO contractors to develop further road maintenance enhancement solutions.
