UPDATE
Today at 1:50pm OPP officers along with members of the Tiny Township Fire Service and Simcoe County Paramedic Services were dispatched to a report of a snowmobiler through the ice in Penetanguishene Bay off Peek-A-Boo Trail in Tiny Township.
Emergency services members responding to the call searched the ice surface for the snowmobile operator who was later found by searchers warming up in a vehicle on Peek-A-Boo Trail.
A 32 year old Hanover man is lucky to be alive after plunging into the icy cold waters of Penetanguishene Bay without the benefit of a floater snowmobile suit. His 2014 900 Arctic Cat snowmobile remains at the bottom of the bay.
Again, No Ice Is Safe Ice! Always check the ice conditions before heading out. Not only are you putting yourself at risk but also those Emergency Services members who respond to your emergency.
