What is the difference between LCD vs LED?

LED TV's share the same screen technology as a traditional LCD TV, the main difference between the two technologies is the way the panels are the backlight.  A traditional LCD uses a form of florescent lightning from tubes, where LED TV's uses Light Emitting Diodes (LED) to increase picture quality.  Now there are different LED technologies such as Edge Lit LED panels which only have LED's around the edge of the panel, which in turn allows for an extra slim design.

What is an Environmental Handling Fee? And what items does it apply to?

The Enviromental Handling free is a new program that has been put in place by some provincial governments to help fund the proper disposal, recycling of electronic products.  Some electronics that this fee applies to are :

• TV's
• Laptops
• Computer Monitors
• Computer Components
• Printers

Any Fee will show up on the sales invoice.

Why do I have to pay an enviromental handling fee?

The provincial governments that have this program require all retailers to change this fee. 100% of this fee goes towards the costs associated with the recycling of electronic waste.  This program reduces the impact of electronic disposal on the environment.  Please visit your provincial government's websites for more information on their environmental programs.

How is tax Calculated?

The amount of tax chanrged can depend on the shipping destination and the type of item you are purchasing.  All items shipped are suject to Canadian Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 5%.  Furthermore, Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) will apply depecnding on the province your order is being shipped to as follows:

• British Columbia: 7% PST
• Saskatchewan: 5% PST
• Manitoba: 7% PST
• Ontario: 8% PST
• Québec: 8%PST
• Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland: 13% HST (GST portion included)
  
• PEI: 10% PST
