FALL/WINTER MICROGREEN PROGRAM
Hi Folks,
Are you missing your fresh, local veggies as much as we are?
To
alleviate some of the withdrawal symptoms we have put together three
short term sessions (3-5 weeks in length) of living microgreens.
Here is how it works:
Step #1: Choose a Session
November 1 - 29 4 weekly pickups of microgreens (although this one spans 5 Thursdays, there will be no pickup on November 15th)
$80.00
December 6 to 20 3 weekly pickups of microgreens
(this covers only 3 Thursdays, but we will give you a double share of
(staggered growth) microgreens on the last pickup day to see you through
the Christmas holidays)
$80.00
January 3 to 31 5 weekly pickups of microgreens (this session is actually 5 weeks in length)
$100.00
OR
Choose all THREE sessions for a special price only
$250.00
Step #2: Register Once you have decided which of the sessions will suit your schedule and budget, send me (Melissa) an email to register. You will need to provide the following information:
Name, phone number, email address, method of payment
Step #3: Payment Choose your method of payment: cash, cheque or email money transfer. Payment must be received before the start of the program.
Step #4: Scheduled Pickup Days Write
your scheduled pickup days in your calendar or create alerts on your
phone....tie a string around your finger, whatever works:) Come to Ciboulette et Cie, on King Street, in Midland on Thursday afternoons (they close at 6pm) to pick up your living greens.
Step #5: Enjoy! Once
at home, place your tray of microgreens in a warm, bright location (out
of direct sunlight is best), and water when the soil feels dry to the
touch. Using a pair of scissors (or a sharp knife) cut your microgreens as you need them.
That's all there is to it folks :)
Ways to use Microgreens:
Add them to your sandwiches Add them to your salads Use them for a topping on stir-frys, on top of grilled chicken or steak
Replace the iceberg lettuce in your wraps and burgers As a garnish for almost anything!
Types of Microgreens:
Each
week you will receive a flat of 4-6 different types of microgreens. The
staples of each week will be a variation of the delicious and
versatile snow pea shoots, sunflower and kale micros. The rest of your flat will be made up of a variety of other micros.
Here are some examples of different types of microgreens you can expect over the course of a session:
Sunflower Snow Pea Kale Buckwheat Wheatgrass Cabbage Purple Cabbage Onion Cress Kohlrabi
Mizuna Mustard Greens Basial Arugula Brassica Mix Cilantro Basil Arugula Brassica Mix Cilantro Radish Fenugreek Cabbage Swiss Chard Rainbow Chard Tatsoi Bulls Blood Beet Popcorn
Microgreens are great for raw foodists, vegetarians, vegans, paleo diets, omnivores and localvores alike.
If
you would like more information, or to sign up for one or more
microgreen sessions, please get in touch. We will only be taking a
limited amount of participants this year - so if you like fresh, tasty
food (grown by people you know - or will get to know) please email me
today :)
Have a great weekend!
