We still have a good few feet of snow at the farm, but I am eagerly awaiting the moment when t these little beauties poke their sleepy heads through the frozen ground. March is just around
the corner, and hopefully the spring flowers follow soon after!
In an effort to move mentally forward despite the cold weather, let’s talk about delicious pork!
We have recently added a new member to our pig herd. Please help us welcome Simba!
This is him the first day on the farm, nuzzling with Polly - our very-old-nursemaid-potbellied-pig.
Simba is a 600+lb Yorkshire 18 month old male who is joining the farm to breed with our current Berkshire and Tamworth girls - providing lots of delicious pork in the coming year.
We are hoping Simba’s bloodline will provide a bit more bulk to this year’s crop of piglets.
Please be patient while Simba settles in to his life on the farm - we will have an open house tour in the spring when you can meet him along with the other members of the farm :)
Frozen Pork
So, after doing the Go Away Winter dance, and introducing Simba, it turns out we still have a lot of delicious, acorn-fed Heritage pork in the freezer. We’ve put together a few packages for your perusal.
