The leaves are changing, we've brought out the warmer coats and the garden is winding down.
It's one of my favourite times of the year:)
This week is a busy week on the farm: we are getting ready for Thanksgiving sales, pigs are going to market and we have an upcoming dinner planned for later this month!
We have a couple of really nice offerings in the next few weeks - please read on!
Turkeys
Available on Friday, October 10th @the Farm we will have pastured turkeys ready for your Thanksgiving love. Raised by a fellow farmer who prizes organic techniques, these turkeys have been fed non-GMO feed and are antibiotic and hormone free. Sales are going fast again this year, but we do have a few left.
$4.75/lb
Most turkeys will be in the 20lb range. We do try to give size preference to the first folks who book their turkeys - so get in touch soon!
If you are in Orillia and have pre-ordered a turkey, we will bring it to the downtown Orillia Farmers Market with us on Saturday - please place your orders to ensure your Thanksgiving table is a tasty one!

Thanksgiving Goodies
We know that Thanksgiving is a busy time for most families; travelling, visiting or extra chores around the house; there doesn't seem to be enough time to get it all done.

Available for PreOrderSausage Hand Pies $12/half dozen - juicy ground Berkshire pork & Ontario potato with mild curry flavour. This is a sure crowd pleaser! goes well with Sweet & Sour & Hot - a Asian inspired dipping sauce that is perfect with our Sausage Hand Pies or wonderful as a marinade for chicken, fish or vegetables. $6 for 250ml
Lard Brownies - a moist and decadent brownie made with small batch rendered lard from our farm. $10 for 6 big brownies
Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies $6 for 6. Sweet + Smokey + Chocolate = Heaven. A must try. Seriously.
Garlic & Sage Pull Apart Bread this is a recipe that my Granny would serve every Thanksgiving. A very flavourful pull apart loaf of bread, perfect for the Thanksgiving table. $7 each
Cranberry Compote with Lemon Verbena a rustic cranberry sauce with farm fresh Lemon Verbena $6 for 250ml
Please place your preorders by Wednesday October 8. Pick up will be at the farm on Friday afternoon (after 4pm) or at the Orillia (downtown) Farmers Market on Saturday from 730-1230. Alternatively, Saturday late afternoon pick up at the farm may be available. Please email to discuss.
