Wow! Our first time here! Immediately we were stuck with the high energy of our server Nicole! She made the night! Our food was out in record time and her high energy and positive attitude made for a wonderful experience!
Been reading all the reviews and the bad ones are surprising but every now and then folks have a bad day but in general this restaurant is at the top of our list . We’re from Aurora with great restaurants and this one compares equally with them . If you have had a bad experience, give them a second chance to please you .
A nice place to eat, good food but not everything is good. I went there recently and two waitresses there had a sour mood or a bad attitude, but there was a waitress who always has a smile on her face and is always in a good mood and makes everyone laugh. The kitchen sounds like a war sound from the dining room and I can hear someone yelling back there when orders go in. The other day I order food for pick up and it was missing chicken in it and it was cold.
Not sure what's going on but I order delivery once a week but last week I called February 18,19,20,21&22nd on the 18th,19,20&21st I called around 4:30 and was told that you did not have a driver each day I was finally able to get a delivery on the 22nd and when I asked the driver what was going on he said nothing as he has been working all week so someone there is wrecking you delivery service was not very happy at all I love the food and will always order I just feel someone needs to know I tried to call but never called at the right time to catch the owners
I was in your establishment yesterday around 1:30pm as I walked in I seen your youngest waitress being yelled at by a much larger man as she was crying, I took my seat waited 5 minutes and that same waitress who i just seen cry brought me a menu and handed it to me with a smile and asked what she could get me to drink. As she was going to get my drink, I watch an older woman ram her bill tray into the waitresses leg. The waitress simply grabbed the tray and said I'll be back with your change and proceeded to the counter. She was yet yelled at by another table about coffee, she told them it would just be a minute. All of this is done by a girl who had just been crying! If I was that waitress, I would have left as soon as I started crying. This waitress is a strong and wonderful worker even if shes having an off day. I hope to see more of her in the future.
This is all we got for $107. Way too expensive. Wouldn’t even mind if it was good but it was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. They used so many bean sprouts as a cheap filler in the egg foo young. That you couldn’t even taste the eggs. Honey Garlic spareribs were runny boiled pieces of gristle. Everything was cold to lukewarm.
If you would like to contact the owners directly about your dissatisfaction we would like to try and solve the problem. My apologies about the late reply
I took my family for dinner this evening, and the food was amazing! Our service was great from the moment we got there. Very clean and friendly environment. Large menu to choose from, including Canadian food. We will definitely be back.
Very busy lunch spot.Homemade burger was great and hot fudge Browning with ice cream was amazing!! Saw Roy himself which was kinda cool too!! Will be back for Chinese next time.
Enjoyed the Santa Claus Parade today in Midland Ontario and afterwards had lunch and their all day Breakfast.Restaurant was extremely busy however didn't affect the service.Our server fast and friendly an was def amazing with our kids.Portion sizes could be bigger with the prices being so high but quality was A1.New to the area.Will def be back to this location !
Did Uncle Roy's change ownership? We haven't been in a long time. It used to be the best Chinese food in the area Today we went and the food was low quality, not fresh and did not taste good. Service was poor. Had to ask for things that should have came with the meal. Salt and pepper shakers as well as soya sauce bottle on the table was dirty and sticky and unappealing. Waitstaff was however friendly but they talked loudly in the dining room to each other about personal life issues when not serving customers which detracted from a pleasurable dining experience for us. We won't be back and we will stop raving about the great food to others and discourage others from going if they are looking for good food.
I apologize for this unhappy situation, not change ownership, if this happens again please ask the server to look for the owner, I am usually Cooking in the kitchen. Thanks so much for your valuable massage
So I just ordered the following from here and the prices are outrageous 1 order of chicken balls 1 order of spare ribs chicken fried rice Cantonese chow mien 4 egg rolls and fries and gravy $94.00 sorry Roy but I won't be ordering again
Back for a second time and was just as great as the first.Came for breakfast this time and was served fast and food was hot.Server was great and was excellent with our kids. Nice little spot for all day breakfast!!
First time there today. It was great! Lovely clean restaurant. The waitress was very pleasant and we were very pleased with our breakfast order. We will be back!
We have been making the drive to Uncle Roy’s for many years and have always been happy with the food and the service. This evening was an exception. We waited almost 20 minutes for menus, or to be acknowledged in some way. My husband finally walked over to the counter to ask for menus. We ordered drinks and two egg rolls to start, and another two egg rolls when our dinner arrived. We were served four egg rolls at once, and our drinks never did come! Their egg rolls are still the best anywhere, and the food was fine, except that the sweet and sour chicken balls were served with a very small amount of sauce. We asked for some extra sauce, and were charged $4 for it! The biggest disappointment was the service - which was non existent. Once our food arrived - not by our server but by someone from the kitchen - we never saw the server again. We finally went to the counter to ask for some water, since the drinks we had originally ordered never came. When we finished eating we waited for a bill, or again, some acknowledgment that we were finished and ready to leave. We had to go back to the counter and ask for take out containers, and for our bill. We left this evening very disappointed in our experience. Uncle Roy’s has been a favourite of my husband for almost 20 years (even when it used to be The Dynasty), but the hour drive to get there no longer seems worth it.
Clean atmosphere but the service and food are substandard. Waited a long time to get any attention from waiter, we ordered our food and the appetizers came at different times (at least 5 minutes apart). Than we had to wait for noodle crackers. When the food came the rice tasted like gas or propane taste, my partner thought the pan might have been burnt. It was inedible. We waited but the waitress never came back to refill drinks. I did not eat any rice and told the waitress about the off taste and they did nothing. I paid full price and they did not care about my concerns or that i did not eat.
I apologize that you had a bad experience at our establishment, I'm unsure why your rice may have tasted that way because we don't use propane anywhere is in restaurant, maybe one day you might give our place another try
The portions are embarrassing to say the least. The owners need to give the cooks permission to properly portion the food. Shameful. The waitress I will say was awesome. Oh and when someone asks for lettuce on their burger. Please give your staff the go ahead to please the customer. Extremely dissappointed.
Excellent selection of quality food. Friendly efficient service in a comfortable and squeaky clean establishment. Looking for good food, at a good price, with friendly service, Uncle Roy's is your best bet!
My friends and I went into Uncle Roy's for lunch to warm up on this cold winter day with some nice warm soup. It was fantastic! The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone that is looking for a family friendly dining experience with top quality food. Thanks for making our lunch delightful!
I have been to Uncle Roy's numerous times. I enjoyed the great Chinese cuisine along with the wide variety of Canadian food they offer. The waitress was friendly and enthusiastic about her job. With the great food and quality service I will for sure be back in the near future.
Can't agree with that review. Have found Uncle Roy's food very reasonably priced as well as fresh tasting and generous in quantity. Have enjoyed lunch and dinner there on many occasions.
Went to Uncle Roy's for lunch today and it was quite enjoyable. Our waitress was very friendly and personable and the food was quick and tasty! Great spot for a quick, filling and inexpensive lunch during the week.
I have had dinner at Uncle Roy's a few times over the past few weeks, and it is always delicious! The service is fast and the staff is friendly, and their food is top notch! Definitely the best Chinese food in Midland - highly recommendeed!!! :o)

The "New Location" is great and the staff is always so welcoming and always there to make sure you feel that we as well. If you’re in the area, you need to stop in and see yourself!
Uncle Roys new location is fantastic. The overall decor is stylish and less tacky. The new colour combination look great. The food always arrives at our table just the way we ordered it. Fresh produce and ingredients being used. Friendly staff. It will still be our favorite Chinese restaurant to go to when we`re craving Chinese cuisine

We eat at Uncle Roys at least twice a week, and their food is the freshest and most tasty Chinese food we've ever had. The service is great, quick and friendly. We can't wait till they move to their new location up the street. It will be bigger better and the expected great food like they always have.
Uncle Roy's is the best chinese food restaurant in the simcoe area the food is awesome and service is great not to mention the owner roy will actually converse with the costomers in a friendly manor I have and will always recommend this restaurant to everyone....Mike O.
