Labour Day dates back to 1872 when the Toronto Trades Assembly organized Canada's first demonstration for worker's rights. Remember the colorwheel? It’s older than Canada. Sir Isaac Newton (ahem, genius) created it in 1706. According to the History of Color, he “took bar of colors created by the passage of light through a prism and transformed it into a segmented circle, where the size of each segment differed according to his calculations of its wavelength and of its corresponding width in the spectrum.”

Fun Facts about paint....At one time, the most expensive pigment was ultra-marine. It was made from a lapis lazuli, which you might find in an ancient illuminated manuscript, which were created using paints made from a mixture of crushed precious stones and a binding agent. Times sure have changed.
