Please join us for the screening of "Arctic Circle". This 2009 documentary from the NFB features two episodes.
The first one shows the effects of climate change on the land and its animal inhabitants. In the second one, we are introduced to some of the people engaged in a fierce international race to pump oil and gas from beneath the melting Arctic ice.
Although the North may seem remote from the population centres of the world, this is where the impact of human activity is felt the most.
Films are shown at the Midland Library, assembly room. Coffee, tea and treats are provided.
Admission is by donation, with a suggested amount of $5.00 per person to cover room rental and refreshment costs. Please bring your own mug!
RSVP to this email, or call Susan at 705-527-0922. Please pass this on to friends and family who may want to attend.
