Family Scene at the MCC presents it’s
2018/2019 Season and your kids are going to love it!
Kicking off the season on September 15th we have THE MAGIC OF SCOTT DIETRICH. Scott has been voted Toronto and the GTA’s Best Children’s Entertainer for 7 consecutive years by the readers of City Parent Magazine. His fast paced, fun filled Magic Show is 40 minutes of fun and hilarity! His secret ingredient is the kids, who become active participants in the show. The highlight of the program comes when the children help in the magical production of Scott's live bunny, Sir Walken. Other tricks include cards, ropes, rubber sharks, multiplying Angry Birds, Sponge Bob and so much more. You'll even learn how to perform a couple of tricks. Immediately following his performance all the children will be given the opportunity to pet the bunny. This is often a great opportunity for pictures. There is much fun to be had by all.
Then on November 3rd beloved Canadian children’s entertainers SHARON & BRAM return for another performance. Since 1978, Sharon Hampson and Bram Morrison have been pre-eminent in all aspects of family entertainment across North America as members of the trio “Sharon, Lois & Bram”. Together, the threesome produced over twenty recordings, beginning with their iconic 'One Elephant, Deux Elephants', three song-books, six national TV specials, sixty-five episodes of The Elephant Show, and fifty-two of Skinnamarink TV. They have appeared in every major concert hall in Canada, and many in the United States. They have received countless awards, including Gold and Platinum Records and JUNO awards for Best Children’s Album. To date, they have sold over 3 million albums worldwide. For their years of work providing the best in participatory music for children and their families, Sharon and Bram have been inducted into The Order of Canada, the highest honour in the country.
Taking the stage on February 16th we have DuffleBag Theatre in PETER PAN. Since 1992, The "Nearly World-Famous" DuffleBag Theatre has traveled the globe with their original adaptations of fairy tales and classic stories. With wit and humour for all ages, DuffleBag creates theatrical magic by inviting up audience members as the stars of the show! The result is an exciting, interactive and unique experience for all. It's no wonder DuffleBag performs over 600 shows annually, at theatres, schools and festivals across North America and beyond!
 
Closing out the season on April 7th we have BOBS & LOLO. Bobs & LoLo are four-time JUNO nominated singer-songwriters as well as the creators and stars of the upbeat, musical preschool series – Sing, Dance and Play with Bobs & LoLo. Recently named Canada’s Favourite Kids’ Entertainer in a nationwide poll by CBC Music, this dynamic duo is dedicated to connecting children to nature with music, movement and make-believe. Bobs & LoLo have written and recorded six award-winning albums, a musical DVD and a new children’s book called Run Salmon Run. Alongside the adoration of the young and the young at heart, Bobs & LoLo have received critical acclaim from the likes of the Parents’ Choice Foundation, Western Canadian Music Alliance, the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada and the JUNO Awards.
