There is more to healing and feeling better than investigations and treatments that are an integral part of traditional medicine. Spirituality is something more and contributes in a meaningful way to our health and well-being. It is the topic for the next "Our Health" event, June 12, 7:30 PM at the MCC. Spirituality has many different meanings. Wikipedia defines spirituality as “the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things”. Positive relationships, listening, compassion, kindness and caring are an important part of spirituality. At this event, experts will give us their definition of spirituality and provide advice on how to use spirituality during healthcare encounters. We have three gifted speakers to discuss these concepts with moderator Dr. Keith Rose. Anne Tune has a personal story to tell that changed her own health and well-being. Joan Gallagher-Main is a spiritual companion to others and has profound listening skills. Dr. Dale Guenther from Hamilton has embraced a unique practice model to improve the health care experience for people who need it most. The discussion promises to be both inspiring and reassuring. Admission is free with registration in advance at www.midlandculturalcentre.com. Arrive early, mingle with the crowd, talk about ”Our Health” and learn about spirituality.
