WHAT'S ON AT THE MCC - MARCH
 Carla here from the MCC! Wow! We have a great variety of shows lined up for you this March as part of our Spring Concert Series. Be sure to get out and check some out. The world famous acappella and dance group from Zimbabwe, BLACK UMFOLOSI returns to the MCC on March 7th. Their performances are energy driven and completely engaging, mixing a great gentleness of spirit and song with an exuberance in dance. Their trademark harmonies mixed with intricate rhythms, clicking and clapping are highlighted during their brilliantly choreographed shows with a full range of movements from subtle to vibrant stomping and leaping! Don’t miss this fantastic show.
On March 17th, make this the best St. Patty’s Day ever with the TARTAN TERRORS. The Tartan Terrors are their own Celtic Invasion, mixing rock’s energy with traditional folklore, dance, and humor. With an arsenal featuring classic pipes and fiddle, driving drum tones, and signature guitar styles, we can see why Dig This Magazine declares “(The Terrors) one act to keep an eye on!” The Terrors use their Sonic blitz to score award winning Step and Highland Dancers and internationally recognized comedic performers alike.
Join us on March 18th as PETER ASHER of Peter & Gordon joins forces with JEREMY CLYDE of Chad & Jeremy to star together in an unforgettable evening of music and memories featuring songs and stories from their sixties heyday. Their respective British Invasion duos were collectively responsible for 30 Billboard chart hits. From the Chad & Jeremy catalog, they bring you "Distant Shores", "Yesterday's Gone" "Willow Weep For Me", "Before and After", "A Summer Song" and more. Award-winning Canadian blues guitarist, singer and songwriter STEVE STRONGMAN returns to the MCC on March 29th. This time around Steve will perform an acoustic concert with special guest Lance Anderson. He will also be accompanied by Shane Cloutier, who will be kicking off the evening.
Also, be sure to check out this year’s Juno Awards as Steve’s latest album ‘No Time Like Now’ has just been nominated for Blues Album of the Year.
UKE FEST 2018 tickets are now on sale! Each year the Midland Cultural Centre hosts our annual ukulele festival in beautiful downtown Midland. This 3 day festival, the first Uke Fest in Ontario, allows ukulele players of all ages to participate in workshops, jam sessions, concerts and all things ukulele-based. This year our Saturday Night All Star Concert headliner will be LUCKY UKE. Featuring ukulele-based reggae and surf-pop renditions of heavy metal anthems. Visit www.ukefest.ca for more information.
