Each year the Midland Cultural Centre hosts our annual ukulele festival in beautiful downtown Midland. This 3 day festival, the first Uke Fest in Ontario, allows ukulele players of all ages to participate in workshops, jam sessions, concerts and all things ukulele-based.
This year our Saturday Night All Star Concert headliner will be LUCKY UKE. Featuring ukulele-based reggae and surf-pop renditions of heavy metal anthems, Lucky Uke was formed in 2010 around the talents of Montreal-based musicians Matt Laurent, Martin Héon, Sebastien "Watty" Langlois, Greg Morency, and Christian-Marc Gendron.
Uke Fest has grown in leaps and bounds and in 2018 we are encouraging participants to sample our local restaurants, many will have a special discount for ukers. Our in-house restaurant Cafe Roxy will be open of course, however we no longer have the space to include the banquet in the building. Midland has a great selection of eating establishments all with easy walking distance from the MCC.
