WHAT'S ON AT THE MCC - OCTOBER

Carla here from the MCC! We have lots and lots of fantastic shows coming up in October.  From tribute acts, to folk, to children’s entertainment, there’s something for everyone at the MCC.

The legendary ANDY KIM kicks off our fall lineup Friday, October 6th.  Born in Montreal, rock indie pop singer/songwriter Andy Kim was inspired by the Beatles, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Bob Dylan. He found fame in New York City at just 16 when he wrote How’d We Ever Get This Way? the first of nine Billboard Top 40 hits, including #1 songs Rock Me Gently and Sugar, Sugar.

On October 7th, JACK LONDON pays tribute to JOHN DENVER and GLEN CAMPBELL.  Jack London possesses a natural ability and eagerness to ensure his audiences have been hit with a “wow” factor. He has 9 albums to his credit and numerous music videos which include a blend of cover tunes and his original material. Jack’s songs are woven with a positive message covering topics as social events, love and people.

Multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and composer BENJAMIN DAKOTA ROGERS takes the stage October 8th.  His fiddle work has been described as hard driving powerful folk with a contemporary edge. He has two Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, three Hamilton music award nominations and is winner of three International Songwriting competitions. Benjamin's latest album Whisky and Pine placed at #6 in the top 10 albums of 2016 on Folk Roots Radio!  Check out his video below!

On October 13th  up and coming country artist STEVIE JEWEL performs at the MCC.  Born in Huntsville, Ontario, Stevie’s sound is said to be Katy Perry, meets Country with a twist of Southern Rock!  Multi award winning and Grammy nominated before she turned 20, Stevie has performed at The White House, Canadian Country Music Awards, and all over the U.S. to great acclaim. Her single “Memory Lane” scored extensive airplay on CBC Radio in Canada in late 2015 and her new single has just been released entitled Earthquake.

Also, in October we have HEATHER RANKIN. After over twenty-five years of performing with her siblings in The Rankin Family, Heather Rankin comes into her own with A Fine Line, her debut solo record. This is Heather Rankin like you have never heard her before, breaking away from The Rankin Family’s signature sound, and forging her own musical legacy with her poetic, intimate original songs, and an eclectic mix of others. A Fine Line is an exploration of the balance between grief and joy, love and loss, and life and death.  Don’t miss Heather Rankin at the MCC on October 15th.

And there’s MORE!
