Jonathan Larson's RENT has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates. It follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade their lives. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this ground-breaking musical. Mature content/Coarse language. Audience discretion is advised. 	Ragtime Pianist Robert Milne "A Tribute to John Arpin"	August 10, 2013
	Bob Milne is an internationally acclaimed ragtime/boogie-woogie pianist who has been described in the USA as a "National Treasure".  He has performed around the world, including numerous performances for US Presidents, ambassadors, and the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.  He is known as a "Musical Ambassador". Bob will be paying tribute to the late legendary pianist John Arpin, a native of the Midland area.  Bob Milne and John Arpin were friends.  The family of the late John Arpin will be in attendance. 	Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Simcoe presents A Night at the Movies featuring Pianist Yuval Fichman	">August 17, 2013

The Midland Cultural Centre is looking for talented people to run our state of the art sound and lighting system.Previous experience would be an asset however extensive training will be provided.
