The Swiss Trio Conclude the Summer Festival with the exquisite sounds of The Swiss Trio, promising an evening of musical mastery that transcends borders and genres. Martin Lucas Staub, piano Angela Golubeva, violin Franz Ortner, violoncello and friends The piano trio "erinnert" by Swiss composer Matthias Roth explores Beethoven's loss of hearing and the composer's retreat into his own inner world. The captivating piece begins in the tonal language of Beethoven, but is increasingly overlaid by acoustic disturbances as it progresses, until all that remains at the end is noise-like, reminiscent music. This work, which was composed for the Swiss Piano Trio in 2023, is framed by two original works by Ludwig van Beethoven, his Piano Trio op. 11 with the nickname "Gassenhauertrio" and his last short piece for this instrumentation, the Allegretto WoO 39, which in its simple melodic style already anticipates Schubert. Antonín Dvo?ák draws on Czech folk music in his famous "Dumky" Trio. The movements combine melancholic and reflective parts with wild and brilliant dance sections. Since its premiere, this trio has enjoyed unbroken popularity.
