Here is more information on Quest Art School + Gallery's youth programmes, written by Executive Director, Virginia Eichorn:
"For over 25 years, Quest Art has been the creative and artistic hub of North Simcoe. We offer classes and workshops for all ages and skill levels. A core part of what we do is outreach to youth of all ages. We provide offsite and in-school courses tied to curriculum goals. Currently, we are offering our programmes virtually in compliance with COVID guidelines. The courses and opportunities that we offer enable youth participants to learn valuable skills that are transferable across any discipline such as: innovation, project management, presentation development and budgeting. For example, we are currently working with over 60 students at GBDSS in the development of a public art project that will be installed in Penetanguishene. Working with knowledge-keepers from the Metis Nation of Ontario, these students - Indigenous and Settler backgrounds - will learn about Metis history and traditions and will develop the public art project from conception to realization. Many of our programmes are free or low cost in order to be accessible to all interested participants."

We would like to thank everyone who supported our "Shop & Give" initiative this past January, as we were happy to donate $150 to Sistema Huronia! I heard that an additional donation of $100 was made through this drive, bringing the total raised to $250!
We'd like to give an extra shout out to Diane Ouimet-Schryver, Treasurer, Sistema Huronia, who is a dedicated and passionate board member of the charity. She is a tireless volunteer, who has always promoted and brought awareness to how their program enables youth to better themselves through music, and how it increases their confidence and builds character. If you would like to support them, here is the direct link to make a donation:

Thanks again, and let's keep enriching children's lives through "the gift of music."
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all: "Gong hay fat choy!" According to the Chinese zodiac, 2021 is the Year of the Ox. The Chinese New Year will start on February 12th, and it will last until January 31st of 2022. Here is what to expect in the year of the ox, according to website, https://www.rd.com/list/chinese-zodiac-2021/ :
"Every Chinese zodiac year is defined by one of the five elements. The upcoming 2021 will be the year of the Metal Ox, and its message couldn’t be clearer: Success will come to those who work hard. Really hard. “It’s hard work, duty, discipline,” says Susan Levitt, a professional astrologer and author of five books, including Taoist Astrology. “In agricultural societies, oxen are reliable and strong work animals. They were responsible for the survival of humanity. So what was happening in this Rat year continues over into the Ox year to complete it, ground it, bring it to its resolution.”
We will continue to work hard in all areas of our lives; especially in keeping ourselves, our families, friends, and clients safe, and in giving you 110% when serving you!
And last but not least, the Ontario government just announced we can re-open on Tuesday, February 16th at 25% capacity! Using my capacity calculator, we can allow a maximum of 4 clients at a time in our store.
We will resume our pre-lockdown hours of Monday - Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
We will continue to be diligent in our sanitizing practices, and kindly ask all friends and clients to arrive wearing a mask, using our hand sanitizer at the front of the store, and slipping on a clean pair of disposable gloves, before looking through the merchandise. We thank you for your patience and understanding!
Stay safe, and see you all soon!
Sincerely,
