Last year The Crew made its open world social experiment onto consoles and quickly became one of my personal favorite arcade racing games of this generation. So when I heard The Crew was getting additional content with The Crew: Wild Run, I was very excited.

After going hands on with The Crew: Wild Run beta, I can honestly say I am was not disappointed with what I have played so far. Wild Run is all about competing in a tournament called the Summit. You compete to earn your right to enter in the Summit tournament by competing in the new race modes, one of which quickly turned into my instant go to race competition. Monster Truck Arena...Damn right, a souped up larger than life monster truck placed in an arena filled with cash to collect in a short amount of time. The arena is filled with bridges, ramps, loop-to-loops, something you would find playing with Hot Wheels when some of us were younger, it was a great addition.
Alex, our main protagonist is back, but why he's trying to enter into the Summit tournament we know very little about. I hope there is a story and a reason why Alex has returned and its not just because he wants to drive around in car crushing monster truck.

The beta allowed for us to go hands on with the new cars, trucks and bikes...yes, motorcycles have been added as well. Learning to master these new race types is going to be challenging, but fun to compete against others for top spot on the leader boards and this is what the Summit is all about, bragging rights! The visuals look stunning and along with the greatly improved graphics comes a great sound track that impacts the high adrenaline rush that the game brings with each race. Drifting through the mountain side was great, knowing that if I put myself into the guardrail, that it was on me, not the fault of the game mechanics.

The Crew Wild Run was a short lived beta that now has me excited to jump back into the game very soon. With more open road to discover, Wild Run should be on your radar for more high speed stunt driving this November 17th.

Let us know if you're excited for The Crew: Wild Run in the comments below.

One moment please...
Taking too long?
