Announced today via 2K and Turtle Rock, Turtle Rock is DONE with Evolve, (well sort of) Evolve has gone gold. They will be back hard at work shortly with plans of DLC and the next monster. The game which has been seen many times and played in alpha form has now been sent off to be manufactured and ready to ship for its February 10th release. The team would like to celebrate by sharing with us the opening cinematic. Don't forget, next week Evolve will be open to the public for its Beta release just before hitting store selves.
Here's one other cool thing to take notice of. The Turtle Rock men have been growing their beards and the ladies have grown out their hair. So why is this worth noting? Because team members at Turtle Rock have pledged to not shave or cut their hair until the game passed certification. Now that the game has been passed and is off to the manufacturers the guys will be shaving their beards and the ladies will be cutting their hair for Child's Play charity. With each inch cut, they will donate $50 to Child's Play charity. So just how long did every one grow out their beards or hair? The total length of hair was 227.5 inches! Raising $11,375 for Child's Play. 2K is matching the Turtle Rock team's contribution, which will raise the total to $22,750. Nice work every one!
Let us know in the comments below, just how excited are you to play Evolve on February 10th.
And last, but not least, we have some beards to shave and hair to cut! Team members at Turtle Rock pledged to not shave or cut their hair until the game passed certification. For each inch of beard grown by the guys and hair cut by the ladies, we’d donate $50 toChild’s Play charity. The total length? 227.5 hairy inches! That comes out to $11,375 raised for Child’s Play – with the hair itself, if long enough, being donated to Locks of Love. 2K is matching the Turtle Rock Studios contribution, for a total donation of $22,750.
Now, with Evolve through certification, we’re turning our attention to any lessons we can learn from theOpen Beta next week, then it’s back to work on some of the awesome DLC content that we’ve been teasing you about. Like, say, that fourth Monster.
