Style is everything in Sunset Overdrive, from the way we traverse the city right down to how we look. Getting around the city is easily one of the best features for this open world setting of Sunset City, it's almost like having a permanent skateboard attached to your feet. Grinding over or under the hydro lines, city rails, or bouncing off of cars to rooftop fans units and much more feels fast and frantic. You're always moving throughout the sitting never standing still. If you knew the right line I would bet you could go from one side of Sunset City to the other end without ever touching the ground. Standing still for too long will only lead to problems as you act as a magnet with all the OD surrounding you within minutes.

 The mechanics are extremely well done and simplistic. With simple controls you will be flying across the city in no time bashing your way through all of the OD's. Stringing combos together will add to your skills which will have you leveling up your Amps, level up your Amps and become even more of a badass! Grinding rails and such while shooting is easier than it seems, because of the fast paced action and style of the game there is a friendly auto-lock that will assist you as you're grinding and killing. So what's killing crazy mutants without killing them with wild weapons. The TNTeddy weapon is a personal favorite, an exploding teddy bear attached to a rifle is a great way of taking down larger OD's with a well placed Flaming Compensator shot first. The idea is to not only string combos while grinding and bouncing around but to change weapons on the fly to eliminate specific enemy types. Though the weapons can be upgraded I would have liked to have seen them customizable as well, the combinations could have been endless, but needless to say...there are a tons of great weapons in the game.

Chaos Squad! Every good game needs a good multiplayer, right? I had only played a few matches but really enjoyed my multiplayer experience.  Its a combination of co-op/competitive mp. We'll have more upon release once the on-line portion goes live and servers are open for everyone. All of the skills, rewards and upgrades you earn within the single player and multiplayer are shared between each of them giving you one stylized kickass protagonist in both worlds.

Sunset Overdrive is an exciting new IP that resets the apocalyptic mutant invested genre with stylish environments and rail grinding gunplay.  There is an absolute ton of gameplay to keep you very busy and invested in the game. From the crazy campaign to the even wilder side missions and the more you can easily lose yourself within Sunset City.  Sunset Overdrive doesn't take itself too seriously, knowing what it is....a video game, this can also be its downside at times with being a little to tongue and cheek. Overall this is a great game and well worth your time and money.  Nice to see Insomniac Games back on track! (No pun intended)
