Nintendo not taking part of the conventional press conference's at E3.

E3 is quickly approaching and it’s a time for gamers to get excited for the upcoming games, consoles and more!  Sony and Microsoft will each be holding big press conferences, Microsoft going first on June 9th at 9am and Sony following later that night. Each will have huge announcements for gamers to get excited for as they show us why we need to own the next gen consoles. Where does Nintendo fall into all this you may ask? Well, we did ask that very question and here is their response.

Every year during E3 we consider the most effective way to deliver our news to many audiences. We proved last year that we’ll break completely new ground if we believe doing so will provide the best experience for our fans, followers and partners and that’s what we’re doing again this year.

We’ll unveil news in a new video format called the Nintendo Digital Event. During E3 we’ll also have game demos and information streaming live to fans during all show hours via Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3, a Super Smash Bros. Invitational tournament live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE and a chance for fans to play Super Smash Bros. for Wii U at participating Best Buy stores.

We’ll announce more details about all of our activities as E3 approaches. Whether you’ll be at the show in person, watching online or just following along on social media, we’re excited to bring you closer than ever to the Nintendo experience at E3 2014.

 Over the years Nintendo has always taken a different approach with gamers and the industry itself. Some of these changes have proven prosperous and lucrative for Nintendo. However, with Microsoft, Sony, EA, and Ubisoft all holding their own press conferences at E3, Nintendo still chooses a different path for their audience to become excited for Mario, Zelda and more. Nintendo is definitely not doing as well as they had hoped with the Wii U and needs to pull off something big at this years E3.  Nintendo has us concerned that with not holding the typical press conference at E3, will they still have the same appeal for audiences as Microsoft, Sony and the others will have by choosing a different method for gamers?
