Pinball arcade games may be losing their place in the physical world, as arcades are slowly disappearing from our presence, but with companies like Zen Studios, pinball may live on forever in the virtual space.

Zen Studios latest addition to the pinball universe comes in the form of the European football league. The Super League Football table places players in a full on stadium, facing off against your opponent in hopes to outscore them, and win the game. Passing the ball around the table will increase your chances of leveraging you to the upper deck in which you face off against the goalie in hopes of scoring for your team. Make a bad play and you could find yourself in the upper deck for a penalty kick.

Building your meter to make your way up to the second deck and scoring on the goalie is one of the most gratifying aspects of the table. The crowd roars with excitement, the announcers yell out the play-by-play as fireworks explode around the table, giving you a feeling of pure excitement of your achievement. Easily the best part of Super League Football is the attention to the detailed audio. From the way the ball bounces around the table, the cheers of the fans and the constant chatter of the announcers, this has some of the best audio recording I've heard from a pinball game.

Purchasing different teams unfortunately will not change up the table at all. So when purchasing a team, select the one you would like to cheer for and start score chasing. Picking different teams will give you the new team colours and the respective mascot that would go along with the according team. Pinball is all about score chasing amongst friends and the world, an addiction that has lead the first place leader well over 800 million points. Good luck getting that score!

If you have a 3D TV, I highly recommend playing in this manner as it greatly increases the depth of gameplay and with subtle changes of the players’ foot protruding towards you before kicking the ball onto the table. The second deck also allows for better field of view when positioning yourself for the perfect kick as you’re trying to score. Having this table in 3D was just awesome.

If you are a fan of pinball, I would definitely recommend the Super League Football table, but with a caution, purchasing each team will not change the table’s layout. Happy score chasing!
