Killzone Mercenary takes us back into the killzone trilogy and continuing our journey just after the end of the first Killzone. Our new protagonist Arran Danner a former UCA soldier with a past, doesn’t mind taking on contracts from anyone, in fact it’s all about the money and getting paid for the job. Whether it comes from ISA or the Helghast themselves Danner is out to collect. When Danner sets out to evacuate the Vektan Ambassador and his family from Pyrrhus things don’t go as planned and Danner discovers the outcome of the war could very well depend on the Ambassador’s young son. With both sides fighting harder than ever to go to great lengths to get position of the young boy, Danner begins to wonder whether or not the paycheck is worth it.
With the Killzone 3 engine being used to bring Killzone Mercenary to the PS Vita, Killzone Mercenary looks visually stunning with amazing lighting and smoke, incredible environmental textures, gleaming metal and realistic shadowing never seen before on a handheld. For the first time ever in a Killzone campaign, players will fight alongside the Helghast forces as well as the ISA specialists. Players will be able to choose which tactics and loadouts they’ll use for each contract as their employers will reward them with weaponry and money with each successful mission they complete. Killzone will also bring its multiplayer to PS Vita with 3 game modes – Team Deathmatch being the only one confirmed thus far. Look for our review near the end of September.
