Almost a decade has passed since we last saw our favorite bald headed assassin. It looks as though Agent 47 has aged well. He has a new array of skills and tricks up his sleeve, Agent 47 is back and is not taking NO for an answer. Things heat up fast within the first few minutes and Agent 47 is on the trail of his old friend and pass handler. My only question is – why and what happened between Blood Money and now? (BLOOD MONEY SPOILER) 47 is drugged near the end of Blood Money making us believe that Diana has betrayed us, only to have Diana revive him with one last dying kiss bringing him back for Absolution. So time has passed and what has happened from 47 dying on the table till now? If you would like to know the answer to that question as much as I do, you can read the book “Hitman Damnation” to find out.

We start Absolution on the hunt of our savior, Diana and eliminate her. Agent 47 always gets his target. With new skills at our disposal, we are able to grab nearly any object we like. Then remove our target in any way we see fit. Making our way throughout each level we are faced with challenges to achieve which will help increase our score nationally and globally to show off our Hitman skills. Disguises are back for us to make our way stealthily through the level only to be recognized almost instantly on higher difficulty levels or even further into the later levels of the game. It can be a bit frustrating when you are trying to make your way to your target.

Absolution is a very good game that will leave you thinking about the game when you are not even playing it. I found myself planning out my next move or another path to try for a better approach to eliminate my target when I was away from the game. Absolution will keep you thinking each step of the way throughout the game. With challenges for you to search for and compete against with friends the game isn’t over once you are done with the single player campaign. Contracts mode will have you lining up your sights and aiming down your barrel to pick out a target and eliminate them. Hitman Absolution introduced their own version of multiplayer.

Though there are a few things I would like to see improved in the second Absolution. (Assuming IO Interactive is working on another Hitman title) Hitman Absolution is a great addition to your video game library and well worth spending your money on. A must buy game for this year! “Welcome back 47, it’s been much too long.”
