Dr. Eva Olsson – Peacemaker, Author and Holocaust survivor will grace the MCC with an inspiring conversation on Thursday, January 24th.
Born in Hungary into poverty in 1924, her earliest memories include experiences at several extermination camps including the most notorious, Auschwitz, with Eva and her sister the only remaining survivors of her family.
Eva believes that telling her story will weaken the hold the past has had on her and will help to educate others.
Since 1996, Eva Olsson has shared her story more than 3,800 times, and has been the recipient of several awards, including Peacemaker of the Year, and recognized as a United Nations Guest Speaker. She has published a book about her experiences,
Unlocking Doors, and a CD entitled
Stronger than Fire.
Dr. Eva Olsson continues to speak across North America, sensitizing future generations on the reoccurring themes of racism and prejudice from a perspective that no one can share, or possibly imagine.
