OUR HEALTH: HEARING LOSS
Do you know that 40% of those over 40 experience hearing loss and
this increases to 70% in those over 70 years?
Be a part of Hearing Loss – Dealing with the Sounds of Silence, our 17th “Our Health" discussion, on Thursday, November 29th at 7:30 PM at the MCC. Dr. Keith Rose, the moderator, will be joined by four experts; Dr. Greg Price-Jones, Otolaryngologist - Head and Neck Surgeon, Andy Audia, Hearing Instrument Specialist, Dr. Kevin Young, Geriatrician, and Ross Hart from the Canadian Hearing Society.
Learn about:
- Causes, and tests to identify hearing loss
- Use and technology of assistive devices
- Relationship between hearing loss and risk of dementia
- Support services available from the Canadian Hearing Society
For those with hearing loss, we have reserved the front row seats at the MCC. In addition, at this event, we are excited to introduce, Live Open Captioning, technology, which converts sound to text in real time!
