This is your invitation to one of the most exciting and rewarding evenings of the year at the MCC.
Each year, the Midland Cultural Centre produces its annual fundraising “Variety Night”. This year it’s on August 29th at 7:00 pm in Rotary Hall at the MCC. And what a lineup of talent we have for you. In no particular order:
Sarah Watt (a brilliant 17-year-old song writing guitarist) with Nonie Thompson
Jill Price, Curator at Quest Art (a fun demonstration of “Art Slam”)
Jesse Parent (a touring singer-songwriter making his Midland debut)
Brian Neale (you’ll know him as the lead singer from the Jimmy Buffett cover band “Northern Harbour”)
Suzie Vinnick (the winner of numerous awards for her blues and folk singing and song writing)
Huronia Players (a presentation by our excellent community theatre group)
Peter (P.J.) Jennings (singing selections of songs from the Great American Songbook with dancers Jo-Anne and John Baird)
Kevin “James” LaBrie (the lead singer of the internationally acclaimed progressive rock band “Dream Theatre”) accompanied by Kevin Grenier.
Add in a surprise guest appearance by one of Canada’s greatest entertainers of all time, and you’ve got a perfect evening!
This year’s event will be co-hosted by former A Day In The Life guest Jerrold Karch. Jerrold Karch is a playwright, actor, author and educator. He has also done comedy with Second City and has appeared in a number of movies and commercials.
Tickets are $99, and you will receive tax credit for an $80 donation. Tickets available at the MCC Box Office only by cash or cheque (made payable to the Town of Midland).
This promises to be one of the great evenings of the year of the MCC.
We’re hoping you’ll be part of it.
