We want to acknowledge and
thank you for attending A Day in the Life (ADITL). We are grateful that many
members of our audience attend regularly. Thank you for that encouragement.
COMING SOON: As a supporter of ADITL, we want you
to know about our upcoming programs. Here’s our line up for the next four
editions:
April 14 - Gertie Beaucage (First
Nations Cultural Education Consultant) (see below)
May 12 - Jacquie Gauthier (An African
Love Affair)
June 15 - Greg Nikolopoulos (the
$50,000,000 Lottery Winner)
June 30 - Leo Rautins (former NBA
player, now Toronto Raptors commentator)
GERTIE BEAUCAGE: From time to time, people are heard
to say that they really don’t understand First Nations culture. This is your
opportunity to gain insight into our First Nations, their perspective, values,
faith, outlook and challenges. Gertie Beaucage of the Nipissing First Nation is
a cultural knowledge consultant. She provides cross-cultural First Nations
awareness training for teachers, social service providers, health providers and
others engaging with First Nations families. She works with healing centres and
community justice programs. We’ll review the events, people, and influences
that brought her to her current role. The conversation will explore the
aboriginal perspective on relations with the rest of Canada.
