Brookside Summer Serenade 2013 |

Join us in the Rotary Hall this Thursday, August 22nd for the final installment in the Brookside Summer Serenade 2013. Cellist Alistair MacRae has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral principal around the world. His playing has been praised for its “rich sound and lyrical phrasing” and his performances have been featured in radio broadcasts across the United States. He teaches cello at Princeton University, is on the faculty of the Brevard Music Center, and also maintains a private studio in New Jersey. Soprano Allison Pohl made her professional debut as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro under the baton of Maestro Stephen Lord at Boston Lyric Opera. In the 2013 season, she will debut with Opera in the Heights in Houston, Texas as Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff. She has performed numerous roles in productions around the world and in 2012 undertook a ten-city concert tour of China.

Join the Métis Fiddler Quartet as they perform “Soldiers in Capotes”, an interdisciplinary performance integrating music, theatre and storytelling. The piece conveys the story of the capture of Fort Mackinac by the Métis corps de Voyageurs during the war of 1812. They will be joined by clarinetist Kornel Wolak, pianist Chris Donnelly and soprano Melanie Conly in this concert commemorating the War of 1812. Saturday, August 24, 2013 Doors: 7:00pm Show: 7:30pm

The intimate conversation will touch on many aspects of the life of Justice Moldaver including his road to the Supreme Court, the stress and pressures of sitting on the SCC, the kinds of issues that the SCC addresses, life on the Bench, his views on judicial reform and much more.

Scarlatti's sonatas are played in five parts and the wines served pair perfectly with the pieces Becher will play.
