WATCH YOUR TAXES AT WORK MONDAY NIGHT and SEE
COUNCIL LEARN HOW TO GET ALONG, JUST IN TIME FOR XMAS:
Three meetings of Council
will be held at the Municipal Office in the Council Chambers on Monday evening
starting at 6 PM. The first is a report from a Mr. Harold Elston,
retained to investigate complaints laid under Bill 168, part of
the Occupational Health and Safety Act designed to protect workers
from harassment and intimidation in the workplace. It appears
that some Councilors still can't get along and have decided to conveniently
make complaints against other elected 'workers', again disrupting the
idea of getting Midland back to work.
The last General Committee meeting of 2013 will be
held in Council Chambers starting at 7PM. The agenda is fairly brief but
contains several items of interest including a presentation on the feasibility
to expand the museum. The 2014 interim tax levy will be set and a
borrowing resolution for 2014 will is proposed. A list of incomplete 2013
capital projects will be presented and a recommendation to place allocated
funds in a reserve for use in 2014.
A 2nd special Council meeting will be
held in the Council Chambers immediately after the General Committee
meeting. The meeting will hear a report on the Source Water Protection
Municipal Funding Agreement and pass a bylaw to enter into a funding agreement
with the Province.
If you can, plan to attend what looks to be an
interesting agenda: especially the 1st item at 6PM.
