Dr. Maxell G. Woods B.Sc(H), D.C. Chiropractor - Dr. Maxwell Woods graduated summa cum laude from New York Chiropractic College in 2006.  Prior to his graduate studies, he obtained his Honours Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Queen’s University in 2002. He utilizes the most advanced treatment and technique systems available to get patients back on the road to optimal health. He specializes in Diversified Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy, Thompson Technique, Flexion-Distraction (Cox Technique), Graston Technique and is a Master’s Provider of Active Release Techniques (ART) with certification in Selective Functional Movement Assessment, a revolutionary diagnostic and treatment system used to detect, treat and resolve a wide array of musculoskeletal conditions, from head to toe. Additionally, he obtained his Contemporary Medical Acupuncture certification from McMaster University in 2009.  He holds dual licensure in Canada and the USA and serves as an examiner for the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board. 

Dr. Max has been practicing at Huronia Physiotherapy and Chiropractic since 2009, returning to his hometown after relocating from Barrie, Ontario. He strives for optimal patient outcomes using an evidence-based approach to chiropractic care, and he enjoys practicing within an integrated healthcare model, working with other healthcare practitioners whenever possible. Special emphasis is placed on injury prevention, treatment and management of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. He sees patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, and assists patients in all stages and phases of care.  In addition to chiropractic care, he offers acupuncture therapy, nutritional guidance, exercise and strengthening programs, custom made and prefabricated orthotics, and lifestyle recommendations. 

In his free time, he enjoys boating, skiing, travelling, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with his wife, Kelly.

 

Julie Smith - Julie Smith holds a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy as well as an Honours Baccalaureate degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. Julie’s clinical experience includes; acute care, rehabilitation, retirement and long-term care facilities both in the greater Toronto area and in her hometown of Midland. She is a long-standing member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association with special interest in musculoskeletal injury, stroke/neurological rehabilitation, women’s health and the aging population. Her clinical experience with hydrotherapy is extensive. She has completed post-graduate courses with the Advanced Physical Therapy Institute, Toronto Rehabilitation and the University of Toronto. Julie is also qualified to practice anatomical acupuncture as determined by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada.  

 

Karen Shatford Karen Shatford attended the University of Calgary where she obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree in 1999. She continued on at Mount Royal College in a post graduate athletic therapy program and became a certified Athletic Therapist in 2002. Karen has lived in Midland since 2008. Outside of the clinic, Karen is a certified Doping Control Officer with the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport and enjoys working at high level athletic events in that capacity. Karen also enjoys a variety of recreational activities such as golf, softball, water skiing, winter skiing (cross country and downhill) and camping with her husband and her daughter. 

 

Kayleigh - A graduate of Everest College, Kayleigh has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2010. Having been born and raised in Penetanguishene, Kayleigh has a strong sense of community and you will often see her at local fundraising events, with her massage chair in tow. Confident in her ability to help people, Kayleigh specializes in deep tissue massage, pregnancy massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and lymphatic drainage. She still looks forward to expanding her knowledge, learning new modalities and adding them into her practice as well. 

 

Meghan Lillie – Registered Physiotherapist M.Sc.PT, B.Sc.Kin - Meghan graduated from the University of Toronto with her Masters in Physical Therapy in 2007. She began her career in Barrie and later joined the Huronia Physiotherapy and Chiropractic clinic in 2012. She has continued her education with post-graduate courses in Manual Therapy Level 1, Muscle Energy, Mulligan, APTEI, and therapeutic taping. She plans to continue her advanced manual and manipulative therapy training.

Meghan’s practice focuses on clients with musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and extremities, and she takes a particular interest in working with athletes. Her treatment approach focuses on patient education and the development of a home treatment plan, manual therapy, active exercise, and various modalities to help her clients achieve their functional goals. 

In her spare time, Meghan enjoys ball hockey, baseball, and basketball, and spending time with her husband, Mike and her son, Brody.  

 

Olga Lalande - Olga Lalande graduated from the Chiropody Program from the Michener Institute in 1985 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Podiatric Medicine at Sunderland University in the U.K.

She has been treating foot problems in Barrie and Midland since 1992.  Prior to that, she gained experience working in Northern Ontario. Her responsibilities included setting up foot care access to those in underserviced area and specializing in Diabetic Education to highly vulnerable populations. She also worked for 3 years in Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, working in a multi disciplinary outpatient setting.  

 

David LeGallais - David LeGallais has been a Practical Physiotherapist for over 17 years. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physiology at McGill University in 1994 and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at Western University in 1997. He has completed extensive post graduate training and attained an advanced diploma in manual and manipulative therapy in 2004. He enjoys treating a multitude of orthopedic conditioning injuries, spinal and peripheral joint injuries.

David lives with his wife and sons in Midland, Ontario. He’s an avid sports participant in ice and ball hockey, baseball, golf and enjoys camping and boating on Georgian Bay.

 

Giselle Pauze - RMT graduated with an advanced diploma in Massage Therapy from Algonquin College in Ottawa. She has worked with Huronia Massage Therapy Clinic for 4 years. She has a wide variety of knowledge but prefers to focus on specific injuries. In her treatments, she incorporates a therapeutic philosophy that complements the Physiotherapist and Chiropractor treatments within the clinic.

In her spare time, Giselle enjoys running and crossfit to suit her athletic lifestyle.  

 

Tanya - Tanya attended the Administrative Assistant Program at North Island College in Courtenay, BC and soon after started a family and stayed home to raise her three children. Originally from Nova Scotia, she has lived in Ontario for 16 years relocating to the Midland area in 2011. Tanya has worked in her field for many years in various office settings such as the Canadian Military, dental and most recently joined Huronia Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Clinic in 2012. 

In her spare time, Tanya enjoys scrapbooking, snowmobiling and spending time at her cottage in Gravenhurst with her husband, Mike.
