Live & Virtual CONCERTS

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Brookside Music Association will be holding the summer Festival of the Bay this August! This year’s Festival will look and feel quite different as we respect and adhere to the provincial Covid guidelines including social distancing and audience size.

The Festival will be a hybrid of restricted live attendance outdoors and live streaming for those who would prefer to enjoy the music from the comfort of their own home. The concerts will be held on the lawn behind Calvary Baptist Church on King Street in Midland. Those attending are asked to bring their own lawn chair. Details on attendance numbers allowed and how to access the live stream will be provided at a later date. The best part of this year’s Festival is that attendance is FREE OF CHARGE!

Thanks to a grant from Tourism Simcoe County as well as the support of the Ontario Arts Council and the Department of Canadian Heritage we can continue the tradition of bringing extraordinary performances to Midland with accessibility to all as we emerge from the pandemic. Brookside has long enjoyed the generous support of businesses and individuals who value its contribution to the cultural opportunities available to the public. I hope you, too, will consider making a financial contribution to ensure that Brookside is well-positioned to continue presenting full live performance next year.

The concerts this summer will be held on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:30 p.m. as follows:

• August 5th – The Hogtown Brass Quintet
• August 12th – The Huronia Hot Strings
• August 19th – The Toronto All Star Big Band
• August 26th – Mime Artist Trevor Copp and Narrator Robert Missen present Camille Saint Saens’ “The Carnival of the Animals”.

EN DIRECT ET VIRTUEL CONCERTS

C’est avec grand plaisir que je vous annonce que le Festival d’été de la Baie sera présenté par Brookside Music Association en août prochain ! Le Festival de cette année sera très différent car nous respectons et adhérons aux directives provinciales sur le Covid, y compris la distanciation sociale et une audience restreinte.

Le Festival sera un hybride de concerts en direct à l’extérieur et de diffusion en direct pour ceux qui préfèrent profiter de la musique dans le confort de leur propre maison. Les concerts auront lieu sur la pelouse derrière l’église baptiste Calvary sur King Street à Midland. Les participants sont priés d’apporter leur propre chaise de jardin. Les détails sur le nombre de présences autorisées et sur la façon d’accéder à la diffusion en direct seront fournis à une date ultérieure. La meilleure partie du Festival de cette année est que la fréquentation est GRATUITE!

Grâce à une subvention de Tourisme Simcoe ainsi qu’au soutien du Conseil des arts de l’Ontario et du ministère du Patrimoine canadien, nous pouvons poursuivre la tradition d’offrir des spectacles extraordinaires à Midland avec accessibilité pour tous alors que nous sortons de la pandémie. Brookside jouit depuis longtemps du généreux soutien d’entreprises et de particuliers qui apprécient sa contribution aux évènements culturels offerts au public. J’espère que vous aussi, vous envisagerez de faire une contribution financière pour vous assurer que Brookside puisse présenter un spectacle complet l’an prochain.
