BROOKSIDE MUSIC TO OPEN NEW OPERA/BALLET CINEMA SERIES WITH THE NUTCRACKER BALLET
Brookside Music to Open New Opera/Ballet Cinema Series with The Nutcracker Ballet
Brookside Music Association is delighted to announce that it is launching a film series of Operas and Ballets from the Royal Opera House. The series is being made possible by a licensing agreement recently signed with MEI Events International Inc. which gives Brookside exclusive rights to present the films in Midland. This new series will make these incredible art forms affordable and accessible to people in the Midland area.
The Royal Opera House has perfected a 3D filming style that offers “the best seat in the house” at world class performances giving the audience an experience very much like being in the auditorium at Covent Garden.
The Brookside series will commence on December 4th at 7:00 pm with the showing of the seasonal favourite ballet The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky. The series will continue in the new year with Tuesday evening showings of Puccini’s opera Tosca on January 20th, Christopher Wheeldon’s ballet Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on February 17th, Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni on March 3rd, Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake on May 19th and Verdi’s opera La Traviata on June 16th.
The series will be held in Rotary Hall at the Midland Cultural Centre. All in ticket prices are $15 for adults $5 for students and children 13 and under are free. Tickets are available on line at http://www.brooksidemusic.com/ or at the Midland Cultural Centre box office.
