Prints were mostly within 5km to give a local - flavor...We're constantly taking new images and seeking out the mood of the area. Watch for several new categories of artwork... from
wildlife, Georgian Bay, waterfronts, cottage country, and even family portraits Also coming soon... photography workshops where you can enhance your picture taking
skills. Also on the new website will be monthly TIPS to help you in your
adventures. This month's PHOTO TIP - Dramatic Landscape images:
If you have the ability to change the settings on your camera, look for APERTURE. (Usually indicated by Av or A on your camera)
This can make a dramatic impact in your images.... especially when it comes to landscapes.
Aperture controls how much is in focus:
Imagine your photo from the bottom of the picture to the top of your picture OR from what is very close to what is very far away... This is the DEPTH OF FIELD ("that makes sense")... Usually in landscape images, you want alot of the DEPTH to be in focus. To do this, try the following:
Choose an aperture between f/11 - f/22;
Focus about 1/3 into the depth of the image. Pick a point and enable your camera to focus (Automatically, or manually);
Click the shutter and most of your image will be in focus.
"Get the picture?"
Hope you have fun with it... Don't forget, if you have any questions, simply email me at : info@andrewelsdonphotography.com
