Business Retention and Expansion – Improve the business climate!
The Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) project was introduced to the community in September 2007, as a North Simcoe regional project. The purpose of the project was to gain a better understanding of the issues that affect local businesses and our community.
In April 2008, businesses were invited to participate and 133 business surveys were completed between May 2008 and October 2008. A statistical analysis of the data was conducted and the results were prioritized into eight key areas. In January 2009, the community Task Force selected four priority issues where action could commence within the next year, they include:
- Business Development and Support
- Economic Development
- Transportation and Public Transit
- Workforce Development
