The Downtown Midland Business Improvement Area Fall In Love Contest (the “Contest”) begins on September 1, 2023 at 12:00:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on October 27th at 12:00:00 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”).

By entering a Downtown Midland BIA Contest, you agree to be bound by the Generic Contest Rules.

PRIZE

$100 Downtown Dollars, free to use at any participating Downtown Midland BIA store. Please see downtownmidland.ca/downtowndollars for a full list of participating businesses.

Prizes are pulled every two weeks, from September 1st to October 27th, announced on the Friday of the week. That is:

SUBMISSIONS

Shop in any of the Downtown Midland BIA stores within the contest dates and spend $20 or more (excluding HST) for a single receipt submission. Take a picture, scan, or screen-shot of the proof of purchase or receipt and send it to the email events@downtownmidland.ca, text it to 705-527-7246, or bring it directly to our office, the upper floor of 208 King St, Midland, ON, L4R 3L9. Please call ahead of time to ensure we are available to greet you at 705-527-7246.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

Alternatively, to obtain one (1) entry, while supplies last, without making a purchase, print your first name, last name, telephone number, date of birth and complete mailing address (including postal code) on a plain white piece of paper and mail it (in an envelope with sufficient Canadian postage) along with: a handwritten 100 word (or more) unique and original essay explaining How the Downtown Midland BIA benefits the Midland area to the following address: Downtown Midland Business Improvement Area, 208 King Street, Midland ON, L4R3L9 (collectively, the “Request”). Upon receipt of a valid Request in accordance with these Rules, you will receive one (1) entry. To be eligible, an entry must be received separately in a single envelope bearing sufficient Canadian postage (i.e. multiple entries in the same envelope will be void). The Downtown Midland BIA is not responsible for, and accept no liability whatsoever in relation to, any late, lost, misdirected, delayed or incomplete Requests (all of which are void).

VERIFICATION

The discovery of any use of robotic, automatic, macro, programmed, third party or like methods to participate in the Downtown Midland BIAContest will void your attempted participation effected by such methods and you will be disqualified in Downtown Midland BIA’s sole and absolute discretion.

ELIGIBLE BI-WEEKLY PRIZE WINNER CONFIRMATION PROCESS

The prize must be picked up within 30 days or it shall be forfeited and Downtown Midland BIA has the right, at its sole discretion, to select another winner. To be declared a winner, the selected contestant must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. Potential winners may be required to provide their full name and contact information and to furnish proof of identification.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

By submitting your entry, you grant the Downtown Midland BIA the licence to publish your name and photo on all digital platforms and by any other means of communication controlled or authorized by the Downtown Midland BIA.
Acceptance of the prize will be deemed to release the Contest Parties from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in the contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.
Prizes shall be accepted as is and may not be exchanged or refunded for an amount of money, sold or transferred. No substitutions will be allowed.
Any unused portion of a prize will be forfeited.
If the prize cannot be awarded as described, the Downtown Midland BIA reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable value, as determined in its sole discretion.
Refusal to accept the prize releases the Contest Parties from any obligation toward the winner.
