Just reaching out to share an exciting initiative Digital Main Street and TABIA have recently collaborated with and supported with their launch, to help businesses alleviate overwhelming expenses, like rent and payroll, during these tough and unexpected times amidst COVID-19.

The tool is called www.Distantly.ca

In less than 5 minutes, your businesses can create a business profile and securely connect their bank account. Once their account is created, they can share the page, via email and social media, to collect financial contributions from their community. Contributions can be as low as $1 and as high as their community is generous, while all contributions are deposited directly to your bank account securely within 48 hours or less.

Totum Life Science, a Toronto staple, is an example of a small business already on the platform. Check out their Distantly business page at www.distantly.ca/totum. Businesses can get their own Distantly donation page live in 5 minutes or less by following these instructions:
1.           Go to www.distantly.ca and click ‘Add my business’ in the top right corner of the website
2.           Follow the steps on the screen by searching for your business and adding your account/bank information
3.           Once finished, your page will be activated. Share it with everyone!

I know this opportunity won't be for all businesses, but I hope that some of them may find it a useful way to leverage their long-standing customer relationships, friends and family, and community to help alleviate some of the financial pressures they are currently facing.

In the first 48 hours we had over 475 businesses sign up, and over $8,000 donated directly to small businesses!
