This place is a must see if you are down in the Midland/Penetang area. The restaurant is furnished with furniture hand made by the owner. All bread, sauces, dressing and condiments are homemade. Basically, if you eat it, they have prepared it for you on site. Nothing is prepakaged at Mad Micheal's. The smoked cornbread is out of this world. The patio is sweet and you can get a view of the owner/cook whipping up a storm in his outdoor kitchen affectionately called "The Treehouse." I also had the pulled pork on a sweet potato bun that was genius as it did not fall apart while I was enjoying it. The staff were extremely friendly. Apparently they serve a Thankgiving Dinner as their grand finale for the season. I strongly suggest you check out Mad Micheal's.

I had lunch with some friends here today. The atmosphere was very nice, especially being on a beautiful patio right on the river. The meal was good too, I had a grilled Portobello mushroom burger!

Mad Michael's is Open for the summer! They have a large assortment of fresh baked goods and a new updated lunch & dinner menu. I tried Kay's butter tarts today and they are so good! Thanks Kay!
