We have been bringing my grandson here for several years to get his hair cut. Today we got delayed and showed up for our appointment 20mins late. We asked just for the sides to be cut which would have taken a short time but were told that we missed the appointment so the barber could not do anything for us. We had prepaid for the 40 min appointment plus tip. So would we not be entitled to the remaining 20 minutes that we had paid for plus tip. So close to Christmas and such poor customer service.
I have been coming to the Midland shop on and off for 3 years now, always receiving the utmost best service from the staff. I need to give a shoutout to my guy Chris always killing it with the haircuts and excellent conversations about tattoos.

Kristyn did an amazing job today. After six months of no hair cuts there was a lot to do. I will be back for sure. History Barber Shop was welcoming and casual, a great overall experience.
My two sons just had a cut here. They asked for a trim - 1/2 inch shorter from covid length - and now they have buzz cuts. When one brother saw the other, he specifically said “I dont want my hair that short” but he got the same cut anyway. They turned the boys away from the mirror so they could not see what was going on during the cut. Don’t recommend

These guys are phenomenal. Great cuts, great atmosphere. They have now greatly improved there ways of booking an appointment at the Midland, Elizabeth location and now can prepay before appointment arrival. Great job to Mike and the boys. Keep it up.
Going here isn't just a haircut it's an event. Warren is a master barber and pretty damn good bartender and DJ. 5 stars for the best haircut in Barrie.
I have been searching awhile for a new barber. Dropped by the Barrie location. I was told that normally an appointment was required but, as fate would have it, Josh had some down time between customers. Had the best cut that I've probably ever had. Was appreciative of the attention to the details. I think I've found a new barber and History has a new customer!!!
I asked for an appointment in the downtown Midland location. When I arrived they apparently had me booked in for the Barrie location. The fact that you have a central location for bookings is great as long as the person in the phone is able to handle the job. Not impressed.
I booked an appointment today with Warren. First he gave me the best haircut I have had in many years. In fact, the only better haircut was from the world-class Tommy Cameron at Taz Studios in Toronto. Second, Warren shaved me with the straight razor and did not draw a drop of blood in the process. In the meantime, we talked about our mutual admiration for Derek and the Dominos and how great a concert Green Day performs. Warren even played the Clash's London Calling album for me as he shaved me. Best...shaving...experience...ever. I cannot wait to go back and cannot recommend History Barbershop Company too highly. Just go.

Dropped in on the uptown location today for a quick beard trim. Shop was busy but it was well worth the wait. Everyone was super cool and my beard looks and feels awesome.

I’ve always wanted a particular cut but never knew how to describe it, always hoping the barber would “just know”. Well lemme tell you that Warren not only knows it but he’s an EXPERT! Every time I leave I feel refreshed and most importantly great about myself. Highly recommend!

Hard to put words to how amazing this place really is, been going to the midtown location for about a year now, The barbers Kyle and Mike are great guys. Always a fun time and great hair cuts. Booking online is really convenient too!
I frequent the Midtown location for regular cuts and beard trims. Leroux never disappoints. The place is always clean and welcoming, with a friendly vibe and good tunes. Highly recommended!

I have a troubled head of hair. Never had a good cut anywhere else, ever. Today Shannon cut my hair and she was a magician! I'd fly back from Colorado just to have her cut my hair. The tunes were pretty good too!

I don't think you know what walk-ins means. I sat for an hour waiting to get a haircut and people kept walking in after me and getting theirs done. Supposedly they have a system that you can walk in and tell them you will be back later, they take your name and then you come back later and walk straight in for a haircut. Meanwhile there is a sign above the door that says no reservations WALK INS ONLY! People leaving their name for a haircut later to me is a RESERVATION! Even if they had told me when I first walked in that it would be a while because of all these so-called walkins were ahead of me I may have been OK with that. All I got was we will be with you shortly (hour later and still nothing). Do not expect me to come back any time soon. On my way to Orillia to get a better haircut for less money at Terrys Barber.

Waiting for a hot towel shave....girl at counter said I was the next customer to be served...after three people behind me were called before me...I got up and left. Dont advertise what you can't deliver.
The people who cut hair seem very nice and do a good job... The problem is the person working the front door.... She is very un professional and often rude and ignorant at times... I've been there many times and I think I've seen her cheery once or twice.... I've prolly had 5-6 haircuts myself.. and 2 for my son AND I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!! im tired of the rude front desk.. and being butted in front of by other customers... I've had this happen many times because of your first come first serve method... the last time I was skipped by your rude front desk clerk ..... the customer themselves spoke up and said he was first... LAST TIME ... sorry to the barbers.. you do a good job but your front desk is losing your business
Last 4 times I have gone to get a haircut I have been rejected because of breaks.... Closing in an hour... Etc. Sticking with my original barbour shop.... Never been rejected there. It's just a hair cut!
I brought my 4 year old son here the day before starting kindergarten for a "big boy" hair cutting experience. Although there was a wait time (to me that only speaks to how good this place is:) it was totally worth it! Maureen (I hope I have her name correct!) was absolutely fantastic with my son - extremely patient and totally friendly with him even when he squirmed a lot. She even gave me a free sample of a product to use for his hair. Best of all his hair looked adorable. The atmosphere is totally upbeat and professional at History and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a very cool hair-cutting experience??
My husband has tried probably close to 8 times to get a haircut there's always a reason for him not to go in, one there's no room for him ( he could wait in his car and they could call him on his cell phone when there was room within a reasonable timeframe. Two their going for lunch all of them are going for lunch. I've never seen the business close for lunch at all the employees go at the same time. Today when he went up there there was approximately five other men that were just going to get out of their vehicle to go in to get a haircut plus my husband would make it 6 at what price not in your pocket. You need to find another way to tell customers that you don't have time for them you no customer likes to feel that way and it can sound very blunt. Now on a good note every time my husband does get in he has a wonderful haircut and we thank you for that. Two stars for customer service five stars for a great haircut
The History Barbershop fills a niche no one else does. It is a unique experience that blends traditional barbering with a modern flare. The atmosphere of great tunes, good conversation and customer service.The staff? People caring about what they do and how you look going out the door. It's this quality that leads to their always being so busy.
We have taken our 3 yr old for his man do and every time he comes out with a fantastic hair cut. I recommend any of the barbers at History for service and pride in their work. I do believe our son would never be allowed to leave the chair without a really handsome cut.
Yes they have a great environment and you get a good haircut. I have been there 10 times and have only received 3 haircuts. Every time I go to History they have some reason why I need to come back later that day or just get kicked out because they cant fit me in (too many people before they close for the night) This is not a good way to conduct business. I drive 20min to get a simple haircut and get rejected more that 50% of the time. Unfortunately I will have to stop going there because I am a busy guy and don't have the time to run around for a cut, truthfully its a bit insulting!! I have never been sent away from any other Barbour shop....Brutal!
I brought my 2 year old in for his first hair cut at the Barber shop on Friday to switch things up a bit and the overall experience was excellent! From the moment we stepped foot into the door we were treated with excellent service. The candy machines and suckers made the wait no sweat at all and Matt made both of us in that chair feel right at home! I had my 10 week old with us as well and I was concerned the entire trip that morning was going to be a fail...but it wasn't! Everyone was friendly and the system you guys have works so well! Keep up the great work, friendly service and amazing cuts! Our family will continue to support this local shop for my two men to look tip top shape ;) Thank you!
Been in several times and never been disappointed in the cut or the excellent price. Had Matt this time and I would have to admit it might be the best cut yet.
Love coming here for cuts, but being scolded come in the door for waiting outside wasn't cool at all. 4 or 5 ahead of you usually means a 1/2 hour or more didn't appreciate that today

I was in town this morning and knew i needed a hair cut and clean up so to speak. I saw the History Barber Shop sign a few times before and thought i should try it sometime. I went in today and waited a respectful amount of time. I got the pleasure to be taken care of by Nadine. I had an awesome experience. I really just went in for a quick buzz cut and beard trim. Other places its like a 7 minute job at best. I got the works including a straight blade shave.........WOW, 20 years ago was the last time I had this done. After talking to Nadine I decided to go for the shave. It was nothing short of amazing. It felt so great to get it done especially the way it was done. The hot towels, oils and aftershave. I was there for maybe 40 minutes at best! I'm pretty sure a good majority of women go get their hair, nails, feet, massage etc on more of a regular basis than men. Guys If you want to give yourself a real treat then go have the works done........Great Job, Atmosphere, Staff; and all for a Reasonable price. I almost fell asleep.....LOL
Nice to see this type of barber shop in town. Gotta send hubby there. Just thought it might be a good idea to show each barber/stylist and mention their credentials and experience.
Rolled into the History Barbershop and was very impressed with the service and the cut! Mike has a great team and can do the Flat Top as it should be done. Mike has the attention to detail as he make's sure even the other customers are getting a great cut and experience! The staff are great and friendly to deal with, Nice work Mike bringing back the Barber Shop!
I tried History Barbershop today for the first time, I have to say this was a great experience. First let me say my hair cut was very well done, and exactly what was needed. 2nd the shop is amazing, from the large screen TV's showing old history shows, to the magazines, guitars and lounge, wooden bar with all different kinds of Tea's, Coffee, and other beverages and just a really cool, clean atmosphere this is definitely a unique barber shop with really affordable rates, including a "tune up package" for $5 which I am looking forward to using and will save my wife having to trim around my ears before we go out, also great service and the flexibility of being able to come in from 8am-8pm without an appointment is awesome. Lot's of thought was put into this place before it opened, and that is obvious upon arrival. Great job
