Board of Directors
Tony Hume – Past President
Tony was a British Citizen before moving to Canada. He has traveled and also lived and worked in Holland and the USA, in various management positions within the manufacturing industry.
He is married to his adoring wife Paula, who has rewarded him with 4 wonderful children, the eldest born in England, the middle 2 in Holland and the youngest born in Ohio, USA. He has a pretty international and well-traveled family.
He and his family have settled in Penetanguishene and feel really privileged to live in such a beautiful area with such a welcoming community. The opportunity to be part of an organization, such as CLH, which has achieved so much for people within the community, is an honour and one he hopes will be as rewarding for the people CLH serves.
Mark Kowalsky-President
Mark Kowalsky has been practicing law in Midland for over 25 years, after moving to Midland from Alberta. He has degrees in philosophy and law. He funded his education by working seasonally in logging camps and fighting forest fires in British Columbia. His wife Kathy owns and operates Bamboo Spa in Midland, a proud supporter of CLH.
Mark is passionate about advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves. He currently limits his practice to family law, and sits as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court. He has previously sat on the board of directors of Huronia Transition Homes and the Community Advisory Board at the Mental Health Centre.
Leisure time sees Mark either above the ground or under the water in his two passions of free diving and hang gliding. Mark has been the Canadian National Hang Gliding Champion in his class four times in the last ten years, most recently in 2011.
