Wow, I'm in love - just had the most AMAZING 1st wedding anniversary dinner EVER thanks THE RIV BISTRO. Best restaurant I've eaten at here in Canada, BEST GREEK FOOD I'VE EVER EATEN (don't tell my yia yia...lol) & now one of my fave restaurants of all time! The spanakopita, baklava, mango chicken, pita bread & tzatsiki sauce were ridiculously delicious. I need to learn those recipes! When can I go back? Chef John is super talented. And thanks to Christine for recommending this place to us!

Johnny has one of the jewels of Midland...He is a Five Star Chef... The most awesome menu I have ever seen for an initimate eatery! I tend to take all my clients there when closing a deal... And the wife on Friday & Saturday Nites to break the winter blah's...Always a nice time! They even have shows from time to time...Enjoy this place!

I ate at Riv Bistro yesterday with some of my great Canadian friends. I ordered the Greek Saland and the Thai Curry soup....it was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to any visitor or local resident. Hope to return soon with my wife in Oct.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Riv. Great atmosphere and service with a Mediterannean flavour in downtown Midland. Try the souvlaki dinner which is both generous and delicious.

I have been to the Riv many times and have always enjoyed their cuisine, as well as their service. They have a wide variety of dishes, I would highly recommend the Riv Bistro

The Riv is great I enjoyed there greek salad and love the steak. John makes sure you get lots of food for your money. Go have a bite....

The Riv Bistro offers solid value. The menue is varied and frankly offers more choice than expected from a restaurant in a smaller community. The kitchen works very hard to provide timely and consistently good food at good value. The front of the house executes their service with a smile and efficiency although in busy times service is somewhat strained. The Riv Bistro deserves a visit. Dining is casual and friendly in the European tradition. Reservations are recommended during tourist season and weekends. Note: the crowd in the region eat early and getting a table after 7:00 pm is usually not a problem.
